                                                       An Eye For Life...

                                      Pet Portraits and Trophy Portraits

Award-winning wildlife artist Alan James Robinson will create a detailed, personalized watercolor of your pet or the trophy fish of a lifetime. Alan has had dogs most of his life from house pets to working dogs to hunting dogs, he calls them the best "people" in the World!  He has an affinity for these wonderful creatures who work tirelessly to please us.  One of the owners of the Orvis company saw Alan painting an English Setter while in his booth at a show and complimented Alan by noting he really "gets" dogs, capturing their personality and essence.  He also worked on a farm for 10 years where his partner boarded, trained and competed in dressage, stadium jumping and cross country so he knows horses intimately.  He was commissioned by the German Warmblood Trakehner Association to paint  Windfall II  while the horse was competing at Rolex at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Alan completed the watercolor during the show and  Windfall II won the competition and qualified for the Olympics.  Working from photographs and a description, Alan will create a perfect likeness of your dog, cat, horse or other pets.

He requires  photographs of your pet  or other animal in the desired pose, as well as a few additional photos from various angles, a closeup of the head (eyes, nose, mouth, ears), and a full body photograph are also helpful.  In addition, a one or two paragraph description of your pets personality and defining characteristics would be helpful for Alan in creating a true portrait of your beloved animal companion. A variety of poses and sizes are available including portraits, full body, action poses or in settings, each available life-size or scaled down. Prices vary according to size and detail requested.  Alan will guarantee that the work will be done to the satisfaction of the client.
Custom portraits are also available for fisherman who want to capture and celebrate the trophy fish of a lifetime. These custom portraits of the angler holding the fish or a release shot or a life size re-creation are quoted depending on size and detail. These portraits can be placed on a map of the area where the fish was caught and perhaps released so the angler can relive the experience over and over.  Contact the artist for samples and price list.
